Theory Test Centre Information
Theory Test Centres are operated by Pearson VUE on behalf of the DVSA in England, Scotland and Wales and on behalf of the DVA in Northern Ireland. All Theory Test centres comply with the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act of 2004.
Upon arrival to the test centre you are registered at the reception point. Lockers are available to store your personal items, for example mobile phones which are not allowed in. Once you have registered and had an identity check you will be shown to an allocated work station in the secure test area.
The theory test begins with an explainer video followed by multiple choice questions. You are able to select answers by using the touch screen display. At the end of this section there will be a short pause. After the pause you will start the hazard perception section of the test. You will have to use the mouse to click on the screen to show your response.
At the end of the test you have to return to the reception area where you will be given a letter that confirms if you have passed or failed the test. This letter provides you with the summary of test scores and if you pass, a pass certificate will be included which is required to book your practical test.
